Aurora Expeditions is actively monitoring developments around Avian Influenza outbreaks closely and are is in constant communication with key authorities such as IAATO. We have implemented enhanced biosecurity measures for arrival in Antarctica and reinforced our onboard protocols, and our expedition team will continue to closely assess each landing site to ensure to determine any risks.

This is our ‘Activity Sampler’ voyage – a chance to experience Antarctica in a number of different ways. Our professional expedition team will endeavour to do their best to get you out paddling, snorkelling, snowshoeing, zodiac cruising as well as walking amongst penguins and perhaps even participating in an on-going citizen science projects or getting some top photography tips from our dedicated guide.
Whilst the weather and ice in Antarctica will determine what we are able to achieve, please join us in the spirit of expedition for an unforgettable voyage.
How many times will we be able to participate in our chosen activity?
It will be planned that you have the opportunity to do snorkelling, paddling, snowshoeing, and camping at least once, We will do our best to offer these in the order of your specified preference. Other activities such as landings and zodiac cruises can be made more regularly.
I don’t feel like participating in the activity today, can I jump on another day?
We ask that everyone participates on the day they are selected in order to satisfy everyone’s preferences. If you choose not to participate on a certain day, you will be placed at the end of the list and we will do our best to accommodate you.
I missed the briefing on the Drake as I was seasick, what do I do now?
We hope you’re feeling better! We will organize a small, separate briefing for those who were unable to attend the general briefing as needed. Times for this will be advertised on the daily plan/annoucements.
I didn’t get to do the activity I really wanted to, what happens now?
We will do our best to offer everyone an opportunity to participate in their preferred order, but the conditions will always dictate what we can and cannot do. Please speak to our customer relations department.
I haven’t been scheduled to do an activity with my partner/ friend, can I swap days?
