Polar Snorkelling

Aurora Expeditions pioneered Antarctic snorkelling in 2014, offering guests a rare opportunity to explore the icy waters from a completely new perspective. Since then, we’ve expanded our snorkelling program to select polar and tropical destinations around the world.
Where can I snorkel with Aurora Expeditions?
We offer guided snorkelling experiences on select voyages in both polar and tropical regions.
Snorkelling is available on a select range of our Antarctic expeditions, as well as on our tropical discovery voyages to destinations like Costa Rica, Panama, Indonesia, and Borneo. Availability depends on the itinerary and weather conditions.
Do I need prior snorkelling experience?
No previous snorkelling experience is required, but you must be a confident swimmer and comfortable in the water. Our expert guides will provide a full safety briefing, equipment, and support to ensure you feel safe and prepared before entering the water.
How often can passengers snorkel during their expedition?
Expeditioners can enjoy the opportunity to snorkel daily, weather-dependent. The snorkelling will take place in sheltered bays, offshore islands, and secluded shipwrecks, offering spectacular wildlife viewing and calm waters.
What equipment is provided?
Aurora Expeditions provides all essential snorkelling equipment, including fins, mask and snorkel. For polar snorkelling, thermal drysuits and additional cold-water gear are provided.

How can I book the snorkelling activity on my expedition?
To book our snorkelling activity, inform our Expedition Experts that you would like to add the optional snorkelling activity to your expedition when booking your expedition.
Polar snorkelling requires at least six snorkelers for the activity to proceed. Please check with the team for availability and numbers during the booking process
