Each of Sonora’s uniquely B.C. themed lodges offers spacious rooms with ocean views and modern amenities including a complimentary in-room bar fridge, Wi-Fi and worldwide phone calls. Day 1 – Campbell River > Sonora Resort
Transfer to Sonora Resort by water taxi from Campbell River. There is an option to fly direct from Vancouver to the resort by helicopter or seaplane (additional cost). Explore this magnificent island before savouring a Canadian gastronomic experience in the Tyee Dining Room. Plan for tomorrow’s adventure; pre-book excursions or consult with resort staff upon arrival for a custom activity itinerary. (D)

Day 2 – Sonora Resort
Embark on a thrilling 1-hour Eco-Adventure Tour aboard an 8.53m Zodiac boat, accompanied by your knowledgeable wilderness guide. Zip around the Discovery Islands for exceptional views of marine wildlife in its natural habitat and rugged B.C. coastline as your guide offers informative narration through a headset system. Later, perhaps embark on an excursion to explore the abundant, untouched wilderness of British Columbia (see additional activities for pre-booking section). In the evening, sit down to a gourmet dinner and sip a fine wine or mingle with other guests in the lounge or games room. (B,L,D)

Guided salmon fishing (4 hours) – Available 02 May – 15 Oct
Reel in an unparalleled West Coast fishing experience. Sonora takes pride in practicing and teaching guests the true B.C. style of sport fishing. Everything you need for the comfort and safety of your fishing excursion will be provided, including safety and rain gear, safe and reliable cruiser-style fishing vessels with partial cover from the elements and private marine toilets, as well as top of the line fishing equipment. The professional guides are friendly, experienced, and Transport Canada Marine Safety certified, to provide you with an expertly guided and safe fishing trip.
Guided bear watching (5 hours) – Available 15 Aug – 15 Oct only
Observe the elusive grizzly bear as few get to see; as it moves freely in its natural habitat. Journey up Bute Inlet by boat and arrive at Orford Bay where a Homalco First Nations guide will transport you by vehicle to covered viewing towers to safely view these spectacular animals pluck salmon from the riverbank. Spot eagles, ravens, and elk in the lush, cathedral-like forest as the guides share their knowledge about the bears, salmon, Homalco people and their ties to the land. Minimum age 12 years.
Day 3 – Sonora Resort > Campbell River
After breakfast, explore this magnificent island and the resort’s many indoor and outdoor amenities. Reel in a rainbow trout at the trout ponds, or dip your paddle in a serene forest lake or for the quieter moments, join a yoga class or slip into the soothing mineral pools. Savour a delicious lunch before departing the resort for your journey back to Campbell River. There is an option to fly direct from the resort to Vancouver by helicopter or seaplane (additional cost). (B,L)
