The Kimberley Coast offers warm climates, and lots of sun. It is important to bring comfortable, light weight clothing for the warm days, as well as some warm gear for the evenings when weather can turn cool.

Tops: Loose-fitting, light-coloured, long-sleeved, cotton or sport-style synthetic shirts protect your skin from the sun whilst helping to keep you cool during landings. Short-sleeved shirts are also ideal on board.

Bottoms: Loose-fitting, light-coloured trousers that cover the ankles are ideal for walking through the bush. Shorts are ideal for beach landings.

Jumper: Some warmer clothes are ideal for cool evenings.

Spray Jacket: For excursions in the Explorer. Sea or weather conditions (choppy water or cool mornings/evenings) make it necessary to wear a waterproof spray jacket.

Walking shoes: A sturdy pair of reef shoes are essential for shore visits. Make sure they are well worn before you travel to avoid blisters and sore feet.

Wet landing shoes: A pair of reef shoes, velcro sandals or old walking shoes that you are prepared to throw away are all ideal. Thongs are not ideal.

Sunhat & Sunglasses: A wide-brimmed hat or cap is essential for sun protection. It is a good idea to pack a spare incase one gets lost or blows away. Sunglasses are essential to protect your eyes from the UV rays.

Sunscreen and chap stick: We recommend waterproof, 30+ sunscreen.

Gaiters: If you are planning to do the Kunmunya Hike in the Kimberley, gaiters are ideal to protect your legs from the scrub.

Swimsuit: We offer a number of swimming opportunities in refreshing waterholes, and there is also a spa onboard.

Water bottle: Aurora Expeditions will provide you with a water bottle on board. Remember to fill it up and take it with you on each landing.
