Today we're remembering the birthday of legendary

Today we're remembering the birthday of legendary explorer, Sir Douglas Mawson, namesake of our newest small ship!

Sir Douglas Mawson was a key expedition leader during the heroic age of Antarctic exploration. Notably, he led the Australasian Antarctic Expedition of 1911-1914 and the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition of 1929–1931, which significantly advanced our understanding of Antarctica.

We named our newest small ship after this legendary Australian geologist and explorer as it will embody Mawson’s pioneering spirit and is designed for global discovery.
