Congratulations on booking your trip of a lifetime! Embarking on an expedition can be a daunting task, whether it’s your first time or your hundredth. To help with your planning, we have summarized a few key aspects relating to both expeditions and travel in general.
Due to the adventurous style of travel offered by AE Expeditions and the remoteness of the areas in which we travel, it is a condition of travel with AE Expeditions that all passengers are covered by comprehensive travel insurance prior to departure, and that they maintain such insurance for the duration of the expedition. This may help protect your travel investment, your belongings and most importantly, you from many unforeseen circumstances that may arise before or during your trip.
Passengers travelling with AE Expeditions are required to be covered by a reputable travel insurance policy that includes baggage loss, cancellation & curtailment of holiday, medical, accident and repatriation/emergency evacuation coverage worth at least $250,000 USD. Proof of insurance will be required ahead of travel and we will require that it be emailed to AE Expeditions no later than 60 days prior to departure.
At AE Expeditions our aim is to make it possible for everyone to travel with us.
As part of the pre-departure process, we ask that you complete a self-assessed Medical Assessment. Completing this Medical Assessment accurately will help us to deliver an enjoyable expedition for you and your fellow expeditioners.
There is a small but well equipped medical clinic on board designed to provide initial care for most medical illnesses and injuries. The clinic is staffed by a doctor experienced in remote area medicine however, hospital level care may be up to three days away, depending on the ship’s location.
It is required that we are alerted to any special medical needs of our passengers before the expedition. This form is to be completed and acknowledged by all expeditioners regardless of whether you are declaring an existing medical condition or not.
Please Note: If required, you may be asked to visit a Medical Practitioner to complete further details relating to your Medical Assessment
As a traveler, you are responsible for all immigration, passport, visa, health, quarantine and customs laws, regulations, orders, demands or other requirements of countries you are visiting on your expedition.
If you are unsure about your entry requirements to a country you are visiting, we recommend speaking to your consulate or visit their respective website for information.
