In our expeditions of The Islands of the Atlantic, we explore three distinct geographical areas of Cape Verde, the Canary Islands and the Azores. Located in the central Atlantic Ocean and off the coast of northwestern Africa, these archipelagos offer the very best of expedition cruising – vibrant biodiversity, adventurous activity, local culture and striking scenery.

Uninhabited until the 15th century, the Cape Verde archipelago juts up from the Atlantic with beautiful beaches, mountainous backdrops and quaint seaside villages – just begging for some hikes across the flowering vistas and vibrant valleys.

Famous for their black and white sand beaches, the Canary Islands have so many attractions to discover including exceptional national parks and a diversity of fascinating wildlife. Soak up the otherworldly landscapes of these volcanic isles as you meander through pine forests and explore secret sandy coves.

Characterized by dramatic landscapes, the Azores abounds with adventure – from some of the best whale-watching experiences to natural parks, caverns and crater lakes – a veritable wonderland of unique experiences and fantastical sights.

In 2023, we will be launching our first ever expedition into this extraordinary region – learn more about our inaugural Cape Verde, Canary Islands & Azores itinerary.
